Personal Statement

THE BIGGEST LIE IS SEPARATENESS

I explore self, identity & gender, by immortalizing moments that connect us. I attend cultural events, lectures & festivals & find individuals that want to share their story or feelings about a particular subject. I film & interview artists, thinkers & interesting world citizens on their perspective on this temporary life. Recording myself & others as we respond & react to these thoughts, experiences & performances.

TESTIMONIALS

Good evening Nosana

Firstly, I would love to highly appreciate you and Tholwana e Molemo for availing yourselves today at our event, it was an insightful event! A lot of our attendees loved how you tackled the topic from the start and the coherence of the session. We hope you reach larger audiences because the conversation is really pivotal. It really helped people to be comfortable and talk about their sexualities after the session. Thank you.

Kind regards

I am still speechless about this event. It was one of the most inspiring events I have ever attended. Each and every one of the speakers moved, inspired and mobilized. They made me believe we can make a difference. I have been very happy about the choices I recently made but now I'm actually excited! Special thanks to Nosana for making us feel very welcome throughout and to Landa Mabenge who took the time to chat to us. Then a very warm thanks to everyone who spoke at the event. All great people who could be anywhere in South Africa or the world but chose to come to the free state. You have inspired at least two people to own their destiny. I cannot even begin to express what this meant.

Today’s Free State Arts Symposium was awesome! Huge respect for the FSAS team pulling together leading diverse leaders in the art world in one room. We were confronted with difficult issues, lots of fiery debates went on and critical questions on constructive ways forward for the arts in the Free State were asked. I am humbled and proud of the sincere activist art talent residing in the FREE State. We might be regarded as an ‘orphan’ province, neglected on so many levels in government, but watch this space…. The presumed underdogs of art, art in the heartland of the Free State is ready to take the stage to real life change

Hi dear Nosana, well, I have finally gone through your Poedrama and I am most impressed. As a huge admirer of feminist and confessional poetry, I really enjoyed your engagement with the personal and the feminine. I especially admire your blatantly unflinching approach to often sensitive topics – shows great courage!

Joined an amazing talk (via Skype) about a month ago. It was really really amazing to talk Queer Sex, Gender Fluidity and Safety. (Also, I didn't know Queer people existed in Bloem. I just thought there were Afrikaaners and people trying to sneak into Lesotho only.)
Thank you to Khan Yisa for inviting me to be part of that space.
